Card Description

Juan Sebastián Elcano, a Spanish navigator and captain of the Victoria, took command of the expedition's surviving ship after Ferdinand Magellan was killed in Mactan in 1521. He led the Victoria from the Maluku Islands across the Indian Ocean and around the Cape of Good Hope, returning to Spain in 1522 with only 18 surviving members of the original expedition. His return completed the first documented circumnavigation of the globe. This card is part of the Battle of Mactan set from the Maharlika Series.
