Card Description

Panday Pira, a Pampango blacksmith and cannon maker, established a foundry in Maynila where he produced artillery for Rajah Sulayman. His cannons were used in the defenses of Maynila before the arrival of the Spaniards in 1570. After the Spanish conquest, he was summoned back to Manila to produce artillery for the new colonial settlement and its defenses. His specialized knowledge of metalworking and cannon production made him an important craftsman during the transition from the pre-colonial to Spanish period. This card is part of the Rulers of Lusong set from the Maharlika Series.
