Card Description

Rajah Humabon, ruler of Sugbo in 1521, received Ferdinand Magellan and his expedition upon their arrival in Cebu. He formed an alliance with Magellan and was baptized as Carlos together with his family and hundreds of his subjects. Humabon later supported Magellan’s campaign against Lapulapu of Mactan, a conflict that culminated in the Battle of Mactan on April 27, 1521. His rule places him at the center of the political and religious events surrounding the first Spanish expedition to Cebu. This card is part of the Battle of Mactan set from the Maharlika Series.
